The Lobo Challenge

The Lobo Institute has officially launched the “Lobo Challenge.” This Challenge is continuous throughout the year. It is a race from the Hellroaring Saloon to three ammunition cans placed throughout the Whitefish Mountain Range, finishing at the Great Northern Bar and Grill. The person or team with the best time for the year will be awarded a prize on Lobo Institutes’ birthday on December 1. 

Lobo Box O Gold Overview:

Starting at the Hellroaring Saloon at a time of your choosing, an individual or team starts and records their race on “Map My Run” or equivalent app.

At ammunition Can #1, individuals or teams will record their names in the log book, add something to the ammunition can from your team, and then move out.

Lobo Box O’ Gold (Ammunition Can) #2

At Ammunition Can #2, individuals or teams will record their names in the log book, add something to the ammunition can from your team, and then move out.

Lobo Box O Gold (Ammunition Can) #3

MGRS:11U 698154 E / 5374461 N

At Ammunition Can #3, individuals or team will record their names in the log book, add something to the ammunition can from your team, and then move out; IT IS A RACE AFTER ALL!

The individual or team will then proceed down the mountain using the Whitefish Trail System, ending up at the best bar in Montana, the Great Northern Bar and Grill, where your time will stop when you touch the sign out front. You will then record your total time in the log book behind the bar.

You will then post your time results publically and email them to: info@loboinstitute.org.

Rules:

  1. No use of any mechanized transport. You can choose your route, and use your feet, snow shoes, or skis, but nothing mechanized.
  2. You must place the ammunition can back in the same location you found it.
  3. You will not tell anyone about the location of the ammunition cans to ensure no team has an advantage.

** Every year on the Lobo Anniversary, 01- December, the winning person or team will be announced. And an appropriate prize awarded. **
